Texas Supreme Court Suspends Judge Adams Over Video of Beating his Daughter

Posted: November 27, 2011 in family law

The Texas Supreme Court has suspended Judge Adams pending the outcome of an inquiry by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct.  As you have most certainly heard, Judge Adams was secretly video taped beating his then teenage daughter, Hillary Adams, who then posted the video on YouTube in October of this year.  I recently posted on this story, which can be read here.  Judge Adams

An order, signed November 23rd by the state’s Supreme Court, makes clear that while Adams agreed to the commission’s recommended temporary suspension and waived the hearing and notice requirements, he does not admit ‘guilt, fault or wrongdoing’ regarding the allegations.

William Adams has not sat on the bench since the video – which has sparked a public outcry since being uploaded on October 27 – went viral.
